'Walk on Water!', Discovery Days 2024

We ran the largest exhibit at University of Washington’s annual Discovery Days!

Discovery Days, organized by College of Engineering included 115 exhibits spread around the UW campus, provided an opportunity for 7,400 K-12 students to explore science and engineering. Our ‘Walk on Water!’ exhibit attracted the attention of thousands of students. We mixed 500 pounds of cornstarch using a cement mixer and lots of hands to fill our pool with oobleck. Students learned about Non-Newtonian fluids and tried different strategies like running, bunny hopping or walking (unsuccessful) across the pool!
